Slack is a communication platform that is utilised for announcements, discussions and friendly random chatting with fellow HIA members. Slack is widely used by the majority of members in HIA.
What’s allowed and not allowed to be posted on slack?
Only post content that abides by the Code of Conduct. You are allowed to post safe-for-work images, youtube links, or lightshot captures; however, it has to be appropriate and decent at all times and cannot be of mature, explicit or offensive content. Keep in mind that many Habbo users are younger individuals, so all posts made must be age-appropriate.
Are there any rules in Slack?
Your behavior on Slack must follow the Code of Conduct, the Slack Fair Policy located in the HIA Bully Policy, Slack Safety Guide, and all other HIA policies at all times, however, here are some more specific rules for using Slack.
§1 - Any discussions or topics that are not related to Habbo or HIA may not be discussed in #general. Conversations regarding anything other than Habbo or HIA are to be discussed in #random, direct messages, and/or private channels that permit it.
§2 - New members to Slack must put their HIA rank in the “What I Do” portion of their profile. Usernames must also correlate with Habbo usernames.
§3 - Polls may be created in channels as long as they are appropriate to the channel (Only HIA related polls in #general for example). Polls may not be sent through direct messages unless approval from a Slack Admin is given and it is an HIA related poll.
§4 - Social Media usernames, accounts, phone numbers, and other personal contact information are not to be placed anywhere on your Slack profile. If you wish for someone to have your contact information - give it to them privately, not on any public channels. Please refer to our Safety Guides for more information.
§5 - You may not use consecutive capital letters in #general or related private channels, but you are permitted to use them in #random and any other related private channels that permit you to do so,
§6 - “Shading” - or “calling someone out” - whether indirectly or directly in any public chat is not permitted. If you have a concern over someone or their behaviour, feel free to message them directly or message an elective.
§7 - Non HIA related links are not to be posted in public channels (you may however share them in DMs if you wish). YouTube Links may be posted in #random or #media-discussions chats. Pictures are to be uploaded directly from your device if being posted in a public channel, and Google Forms/Docs/etc/Typeforms are permitted as long as they cover HIA related topics. If you are sending screenshots of various pictures, it is best to use imgur or lightshot and DM them to someone rather than a public channel. If you are unsure whether the link you wish to share is permitted in a channel, please message an elective.
§8 - Leaking private information from a Slack channel/DM (special unit, elective, etc) is cause for punishment depending on the severity of the infraction. If the information is meant to be private, keep it that way.
§9 - Gory, horror, sexually suggestive, substance usage/abuse, and/or any media deemed inappropriate or explicit for HIA (including but not limited to pictures, videos, audio, and or text) - that otherwise may be offensive or inappropriate - are not allowed in the HIA Slack workspace. Failure to comply will result in deactivation of your Slack account along with other appropriate disciplinary consequences.
§10 - As stated above, all rules outlined in the Code of Conduct, Habbo Way, the Slack Fair Policy located in the HIA Bully Policy, Slack Safety Guide, and other HIA policies and guides are in full effect while chatting on Slack. If you have any serious questions or concerns DM a member of the Chief of Staff, the Chief of Directorates, or the Founder of HIA.
§11 - When a member has been promoted to a certain rank or added to a specific special unit, the member is required to stay in their respective channels due to it being utilised as a backbone for the rank/special unit. If a member has accidentally left the channel, the member is to be added back into the channel immediately, if a member refuses to stay in his/her respective rank or special unit channel, a verbal warning will be issued.
I have an announcement. Can I do it in #alerts?
You, yourself cannot. Only Slack admins can post messages in #alerts. If you have an announcement to share, direct message a Slack admin by requesting for a SA (Slack Admin) in #requests and they will put it in #alerts for you. Only Workspace Owners may use the @channel command in #alerts, so if your message needs to utilise this command, please inform a Workspace Owner. (Directorate +).
How do I join slack?
Head to the Help Desk in base and ask to be invited to Slack. The user you are speaking to will ask you to whisper your email to them. They will then get you invited to Slack. It is highly recommended that you use an email that is NOT your habbo email.
How do I set up my profile?
Step 1: Click on the small arrow located by the heading in the top left corner of your page.
Step 2: Fill in the appropriate rank that corresponds with your current rank within HIA. This helps people know what rank you are.
What is #Requests used for?
Slack contains a variety of channels with different purposes. One of these channels is named #requests. Within this channel, Trainer+ HIA members may request for certain people with privileges such as: Room Rights, Badge Admin, Portal Admin and many more.
How do I use #requests?
There are specific ways to request for certain things whilst using the channel. Here are examples of how to use Requests and scenarios when you would need to.
If you are in need of someone’s badge accepted, you would contact a Badge Admin: BA > (Username of whom you are requesting for) > (Badge needed) Example: BA > xCandyRose > Trainer
If you are in need of someone’s portal account to be accepted, you would contact a Portal Admin: PA > (Username of whom you are requesting for) > Portal Acceptance Example: PA > xCandyRose > Portal Acceptance
If you are in need of a log being removed, you would also contact a Portal Admin: PA > Remove the following log please (Reason to why) > Screenshot of the log Example: PA > Remove the following log please, Did not have 30 minutes Online Time > (Screenshot of log)
If you need a Room Rights Holder in base: RR > Reason to why you require a Room Rights Holder Example:RR > Troll within base, non-stop spam
If you are requesting for Slack Admin to add someone to our domain or if you need something posted on #Alerts: SA > DM me Example:SA > DM me (Direct Messages are utilised as you will be sending that what you would want to be posted on #Alerts)
If you require someone to be invited/Reactivated on slack, you would ask for a Slack Admin: SA > DM me Example: SA > DM me (Direct Messages are utilised as you will be forwarding the individuals email to the Slack Admin to they can proceed to Invite them)
If you require a Rank Seller for you or someone else: RS > (Name of person who requires RS) > (Where in base they might be) Example:RS > xCandyRose > Help Desk
How will I know someone has completed my request?
When your request has been accepted, the person to complete your request will react with an emoticon, notifying you that it has been seen and completed.

How do I react with an emoticon?
Hover over the request you desire to react to, you should nice a smiley face (Pointed out in the Image below). Clicking this will allow you to ‘’Add reaction’’ to the post.
Then a various selection of emojis will pop up, you may choose an emoji to react with.
Once you have completed that, the corresponding emoji you reacted with will pop up highlighted in blue, notifying you that you have reacted with that emoji.
